YIN YIN is coming to Močvara
After an unforgettable concert at Močvara almost two years ago, YinYin is returning on March 6th to promote their latest album ‘Mount Matsu.’ Read on to learn more about this eccentric music group.
Founded in 2018 in Maastricht, Netherlands, YinYin quickly caught the attention of Les Disques Bongo Joe, a leading funk label on the global scene. Their musical style, rooted in funk, is expressed through influences of 1960s and 1970s South Asian music, known as ‘Thai funk’.
YinYin stands out as one of the key modern bands experimenting with Thai funk, captivating audiences from their first EP to the album ‘The Rabbit That Hunts Tigers,’ which propelled them to the top positions in the Bongo Joe catalog.
While their studio albums have achieved significant success, YinYin’s true strength lies in their live performances, as experienced by all who attended the promotion of their second album, ‘The Age Of Aquarius,’ two years ago at Močvara. Their third album, ‘Mount Matsu,’ brings the promise of a new musical experience under the strong influence of Japanese culture. As a result of the ‘democratic processes of four musicians who have become friends along the way,’ this album promises an abundance of disco psychedelia, funk, and musical exoticism.
