The masterminds behind this madness are Miro Čabraja and Dorotea Šušak, already known for their hit show Grandma Has a Boyfriend. This dynamic duo is once again pushing the boundaries of theatre, creating a hilarious mix of humor, interaction, and provocation.
A Blend of Old Romantic Clichés and Modern Dating Challenges
Forget candlelit dinners! Blind Date explores what modern dating looks like in the age of swiping, snapping, and other digital games. You’ll see a variety of characters preparing for dates – from misanthropes and philanthropists to psychopaths and truck drivers. This show humorously depicts the quest for love in the digital age.
On stage, you’ll meet nine incredible characters – from bankers and construction workers to influencers and exotic pet lovers. They all have one goal: to find their better (or worse) half! The audience gets to vote, cheer, critique, and guide their fates – because their journey to love or eternal solitude depends entirely on you. And who is that mysterious tenth character in this crazy puzzle? You’ll have to find out in person.
“Grandma Has a Boyfriend” – A Show That Breaks All Stereotypes
The second theatrical hit La La Land is bringing this fall is “Grandma Has a Boyfriend”. This adult comedy has already captured audiences across Croatia. Actors Asim Ugljen and Miro Čabraja push the limits of humor and seriousness, presenting the story of con artist Toma and a host of unusual ladies in their mature years. Through various female characters like Ksenija, Mira, and Matilda, Čabraja breaks stereotypes and shows that age is just a number.
The show raises questions about love, lust, and deceit in a completely unexpected way. Toma, the first Croatian gigolo, will both entertain and provoke controversy with his adventures. Aimed at adult audiences, couples, singles, and anyone who enjoys pushing the boundaries of theatrical humor.
