Festivals this summer

Summer in Croatia brings sun, sea, and festivals! Our coast and inland areas transform into stages for diverse music, cultural, and gastronomic events that attract visitors from around the world. Read on in the blog to discover more about the festivals happening this summer across Croatia.

The festival season kicks off with the Toč Festival in Nin, scheduled from June 20th to 23rd. Alongside educational and creative workshops, wellness and recreational activities, tastings, panel discussions, and musical performances, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the interesting and unique landscape.

On Krk Island, another edition of the popular VELVET Festival is being prepared, known for its reputation as one of the most successful festivals in the region. Once again taking place at Medane Beach in Punat, over 40 performers will gather for 4 days to celebrate sound, culture, and community.

Something a little different is happening on Cres Island from June 28th to 30th. It’s the first island fantasy convention, Isle of Wonders. Over three days, the historic center of Cres will become a gathering place for world-renowned writers, actors, visual artists, musicians, craftsmen, knights from times past, and costumed film heroes.

Beach party enthusiasts will have their fill in July. There will be no shortage of parties at the popular Zrće beach, as this year it will host 2 festivals: Lunar Festival 2024 and Day & Night Festival 2024.

Sea Sound Festival, successor to the Seasplash festival, will take place from July 18th to 21st in Šibenik. In addition to a rich musical program, Sea Sound will emphasize significant advancements in creativity over the past decade, particularly highlighting the emergence of many new handmade sound systems. Moving further south to Sućuraj, another edition of the TAM TAM festival will be held from July 11th to 20th, which has grown from musician gatherings into one of the best small festivals in the region. Alongside TAM TAM, Hvar will host the MUDRI BRK festival. After two successful editions, a third festival summer has been announced, spanning a week from July 24th to 28th this year. Apart from the main musical program on July 26th and 27th at the Summer Cinema Jelsa, the Mudri Brk festival will feature special cinema screenings, children’s workshops, after-beach parties, exhibitions, and quizzes at several locations in Jelsa.

In Ploče, from August 2nd to 4th, the 10th anniversary of the festival od2do2 will be celebrated, featuring performances by Minea, Ivana Banfić, Ella, Denis & Denis, SARS, Stereotip, and ŽORŽET. In Martinska, the second edition of the hip-hop festival Preach the RIČ will take place, headlined by Arrested Development, Valid & DJ Head, and Bad Copy.

The end of August is reserved again for Punat on Krk, where another Beat on the Sea will take place, and we’ll soon find out the lineup.

In September, there will also be no shortage of festivals to choose from: Pachakutiq Festival, happening from September 5th to 8th at Kamenica Beach; MASU Youth Culture Festival in Makarska on September 13th; Fibra Festival in Split; and closing the season, Goulash Disko Festival in Komiža.
