Icon. Living legend. Both are definitions that apply to Marco Bailey, a self-taught dj and producer whose career started to develop in the late 80s after attending a local club in his native Belgium.
Three decades later, he’s known as an artist constantly pushing techno the next
level. Either by producing his own tracks, managing his first own label MB
Elektronics (established in 2001), or by travelling all around the world to make
people dance and lose themselves in his flawless technique and impeccable
selection. When a night is in need of a dose of powerful rhythms and a deep,
intense atmosphere, Marco Bailey is the name that needs to be summoned. This
formula has proven successful over the years, as he touched base in cities far away from his hometown, such as Nairobi (Kenya), Tokyo (Japan), Beijing (China), Los Angeles + New York (USA), Sydney (Australia) and Buenos Aires (Argentina) just to ame the pinnacle of a long list. It is fair to say the globe has lived the Marco Bailey experience on each cardinal point.
During his career, he has released well-received singles, EPs and albums on
highly-acclaimed labels such as Bonzai Records, Primate, Prime'vill, Intec, ARTS,
Kombination Research and many more. His discography spans almost 200
releases, demonstrating a forward thinking approach and the desire to not just
ignore but break the mold of what can be considered a trend in a certain moment n every single one of them. Nowadays, as an innovator and an artist completely and permanently devoted to his craft, he’s at the helm of MATERIA, a concept that was born in 2015 as a successful event dedicated to techno in its purest form.
