7 years of VOLTA w Lechuga Zafiro

We are proud to present our 7th circle around the sun and with it the producer that inspired us since we first heard his work, the Uruguayan ahead of his time - Lechuga Zafiro!

 "How could I call it my sound if I had not found it myself?"

Using field recordings of himself drumming on wood, metal, plastic and glass, he manages to uniquely channel the drums of the Afro-Uruguayancandombe tradition, Mexican tribal music, and Angolan-Portuguese kuduro rhythms.

Pablo de Vargas, a.k.a. Lechuga Zafiro’s drumming skills also translate to his DJing, whereas he often uses the CDJ’s as drums, cutting and cueing to create unique patterns and beats. 

Joining us for support is Olgica, Serbia-born, Graz-based performer and DJ who is constantly developing her idea of presenting music in different genres and forms - from ambient, dub, broken beats, breaks and uk bass to spherical techno and house - always exciting and highly eclectic. She has been active in the local performance and music scene for years. As part of the @iskra.8020 and @interlude.at team, Olgica conceives and organises event series in Graz and has become an integral part of the Austrian music scene.

As always, the event will be powered by the mighty Kordoom Hifi and the club space will be decorated with the ever-evolving visuals of Monika Milas.
